KMT lawmaker Johnny Chiang visited former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to discuss regional stability and Taiwan's economic security. Turnbull expressed support for Chiang's '3D' principles: deterrence, dialogue, and democracy.

Chiang emphasized the need for Taiwan and Australia to enhance their partnership, citing the complementary nature of Taiwan's semiconductor sector and Australia's resources. He also urged Turnbull to advocate for Taiwan's inclusion in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Chiang was in Australia for two and a half days, having arrived with a delegation to engage in parliamentary diplomacy and attend World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce events.
