Kongsberg Maritime to Equip LS Marine Solution's Ultra-Large Cable Lay Vessel at Tersan Shipyard, Türkiye
Kongsberg Maritime will provide a fully integrated equipment package for LS Marine Solution's ultra-large cable lay vessel under construction at Tersan Shipyard in Türkiye. The vessel, measuring 148.4 meters in length and 31 meters in width, will have a cable carrying capacity of 13,000 tons and a total displacement of 18,800 tons. It is designed to meet the increasing demand for subsea HVDC and optical cables and will feature advanced systems for efficiency and sustainability. Construction is expected to take three years, with operations commencing in 2028.
Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a contract to supply a comprehensive equipment package for LS Marine Solution's next-generation ultra-large cable lay vessel at Tersan Shipyard, Türkiye. The vessel will be 148.4 meters long, 31 meters wide, with a capacity of 13,000 tons and a displacement of 18,800 tons, aimed at laying subsea HVDC and optical cables.
Key features include K-Pos dynamic positioning systems, a battery hybrid DC electrical system, and propulsion units designed to reduce emissions and enhance operational efficiency. Construction is projected to take three years, with the vessel expected to enter service in 2028.
