Korean Air and Delta Discuss Direct Incheon-Austin Flight to Support Samsung's $37 Billion Chip Facility
Korean Air and Delta Air Lines are in discussions to establish a direct flight from Incheon to Austin to facilitate Samsung Electronics' semiconductor operations in Texas. The proposed route follows a roundtable meeting on March 11, where key airline officials and local stakeholders discussed the urgency of improving connectivity.
Samsung's $37 billion semiconductor facility in Taylor is nearing completion, with operations expected to start in the second half of the year. Currently, travelers must transit through hubs, making the journey inefficient. The proposed direct flight would significantly reduce travel time and enhance supply chain integration between South Korea and the US, aligning with Texas's strategy to boost foreign investment in semiconductor manufacturing.
