Kumoh National Institute of Technology and SK Siltron Launch Joint Semiconductor Course for 2026 Academic Year
Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT) will collaborate with SK Siltron to develop the 'SSU Wafer Engineering' course for the SSU Semiconductor Convergence major, starting in the first semester of the 2026 academic year. The 16-week course will be taught by Professor Hong-woo Lee, focusing on silicon wafer processes, including wafer design parameters, single crystal growth technology, polishing and cleaning, and functional wafer manufacturing.
This program aims to connect industry needs with academic training. KIT, in collaboration with Yeungnam University, seeks to train about 800 semiconductor professionals from 2025 to 2028 to address industry labor shortages.
