Kurita Water Industries Joins CORSIA Pilot for SAF Feedstock from Wastewater
Kurita Water Industries Ltd. has been designated a pilot operator in a Japanese initiative to certify sustainable aviation fuel feedstock under ICAO's CORSIA framework. This program aims to enable Kurita to supply oils recovered from wastewater as a feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Kurita Water Industries Ltd. will participate in a public-private initiative in Japan aimed at obtaining certification for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) feedstock under the CORSIA framework. The company intends to recover oils and fats from wastewater generated by food factories and other facilities for use in SAF production.
As a pilot operator, Kurita will receive support for discussions with Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and assistance with ICAO applications. Japan aims to replace 10% of domestic airline fuel with SAF by 2030, and Kurita's involvement adds a wastewater-derived feedstock option to the evolving SAF supply chain.
