Kurum International and Danieli Sign €150M Investment for Green Steel Plant in Elbasan, Albania
Kurum International Albania and Danieli Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. have signed a €150 million contract to establish a green steel production facility in Elbasan, utilizing MIDA Steel Concept technology to achieve zero carbon emissions. The factory is projected to produce nearly one million tons of construction steel annually within 24 months, supporting Albania's sustainable economic development and enhancing local industrial capabilities. This investment aims to reinforce Elbasan's status as a key industrial hub while creating jobs and modernizing the industrial sector.

Kurum International Albania and Danieli Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. have signed a contract for a €150 million investment to build a new steel production facility in Elbasan's Metallurgical Industrial Zone. The project, which will implement the MIDA Steel Concept technology, aims to position Albania in the European green steel market, boasting zero carbon emissions.
The factory is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of nearly one million tons of construction steel and other products over a 24-month timeline. This initiative supports Albania's national priorities for sustainable economic development and is anticipated to enhance industrial modernization, create jobs, and strengthen the local industrial chain.
