Kurum International Albania and Danieli Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. have signed a contract for a €150 million investment to build a new steel production facility in Elbasan's Metallurgical Industrial Zone. The project, which will implement the MIDA Steel Concept technology, aims to position Albania in the European green steel market, boasting zero carbon emissions.

The factory is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of nearly one million tons of construction steel and other products over a 24-month timeline. This initiative supports Albania's national priorities for sustainable economic development and is anticipated to enhance industrial modernization, create jobs, and strengthen the local industrial chain. The project further solidifies Elbasan's role as a strategic industrial hub.
