Ladoga Regional Aircraft Project Transferred to Russian Defense Ministry
The Ladoga turboprop regional aircraft project has been suspended, with responsibilities handed to the Russian Ministry of Defense. This shift aims to adapt the aircraft for military purposes, potentially impacting the regional aviation market.

The Ural Works of Civil Aviation has suspended the Ladoga turboprop regional aircraft (TPRA-44) project, transferring all research and technology efforts to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The aircraft, designed to carry 44 passengers, was initiated to replace aging Soviet aircraft.
The prototype is expected to make its first flight in 2026, while certification of its TB7-117CT-02 engine is anticipated this year. The initial production of 35 aircraft was set for 2028, with a total of 105 units projected by 2030. This transition may lead to modifications for military applications, influencing the regional aviation landscape.
