Lambra Kangri Cooperative Society Enhances Agricultural Support in Punjab
The Lambra Kangri Multipurpose Cooperative Service Society Ltd, established in 1920, now serves over 3,700 individuals, providing loans and farming resources. With total deposits of approximately Rs 31 crore and loans extended of around Rs 5 crore, the society is crucial for local agricultural and community development.

The Lambra Kangri Multipurpose Cooperative Service Society Ltd has evolved into a significant agricultural credit institution, serving four villages in Punjab. It now boasts total deposits of approximately Rs 31 crore and has provided loans worth around Rs 5 crore for agriculture and other community needs.
Daily services are utilized by nearly 2,900 members, with offerings including over 90 types of farming equipment for rent and an agro-processing center established at a cost of about Rs 1 crore. The society's biogas plant serves local households at a significantly reduced cost compared to LPG.
Moreover, it operates a wastewater treatment facility that processes 400,000 liters of wastewater daily. Future initiatives include grain storage and solar energy systems, aimed at enhancing rural sustainability. Recognition includes the NABARD Best Performance Award (2025) and the Punjab State Award (2024) for sustainability initiatives.
