Liaoning Province Plans Hydrogen-Ammonium-Methanol Pipeline from Chifeng to Jinzhou by 2026
Liaoning Provincial Government has outlined key measures to develop the green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol chain, including the construction of a pipeline from Chifeng to Jinzhou by 2026. The plan also includes advancing a methanol-hydrogen vehicle project, establishing a national green energy base, and enhancing clean energy infrastructure with significant wind and solar capacity.

The Liaoning Provincial Government issued a notice detailing key tasks for 2026, focusing on the development of a green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol chain. This includes planning the construction of a pipeline from Chifeng to Jinzhou and advancing the methanol-hydrogen new energy vehicle project.
The initiative aims to create a national green hydrogen energy base and a Northeast Asia green marine fuel center. Additionally, the plan promotes the establishment of clean energy bases with 10 million kilowatts of capacity in offshore wind, coastal nuclear, and solar energy, alongside 500 kV transmission projects and smart grid developments.
