Lockheed and Airbus Compete for Helicopter Contracts in Poland and Region
Lockheed Martin aims to secure helicopter contracts in Poland by leveraging its ability to produce the Black Hawk S-70i. Competitors include Airbus Helicopters with its Caracal H225M and AW101 Merlin models.

Lockheed Martin's local division is ready to manufacture the Black Hawk S-70i quickly, targeting Poland's helicopter tenders for special forces and naval use. Airbus Helicopters is also in contention with its Caracal H225M for special operations and the AW101 Merlin for the Navy.
The current tender process follows the cessation of negotiations for 50 Caracal helicopters. Additionally, Airbus is pursuing a light utility helicopter contract in the Czech Republic against Bell Helicopter, which is preparing to enter Romania's market for 50 new helicopters. The Mi-17 is noted as a strong competitor due to its cost advantages, potentially impacting procurement decisions.
