Luxembourg Redevelops Industrial Sites into Residential Districts in Esch, Dudelange, and Wiltz
Luxembourg is transforming former industrial sites in Esch-sur-Alzette, Dudelange, and Wiltz into residential districts, aiming to create thousands of new homes. Notable developments include the 'Roud Lëns' project in Esch, which will provide 1,400 homes, and Dudelange's 'NeiSchmelz' initiative, set to deliver 1,600 homes over 20 years. In Wiltz, the 'Wunne mat der Wooltz' project plans to build 1,085 homes, with a significant portion designated for rent, and is expected to accommodate around 2,500 residents.

Luxembourg is converting former industrial sites in Esch-sur-Alzette, Dudelange, and Wiltz into residential areas, planning to create thousands of new homes. The 'Roud Lëns' site in Esch-sur-Alzette will develop 1,400 homes, including 439 affordable units, with first residents expected in 18 months.
Dudelange's 'NeiSchmelz' project will take 20 years to build 1,600 homes for 3,600 residents, utilizing geothermal energy for heating, with initial occupancy anticipated in four years. In Wiltz, the 'Wunne mat der Wooltz' project aims to establish 1,085 homes on a previously industrial site, with 70% designated for rent. The first phase is set for completion by next summer, with full project completion projected within a decade, accommodating around 2,500 people.
