Maharashtra Conducts Infrastructure Gap Analysis for Chakan-Talegaon Corridor Amid Global Expansion
Maharashtra plans a thorough infrastructure gap analysis in the Chakan-Talegaon corridor to support global firms' upcoming expansion efforts. Key focus areas include road, electricity, waste management, and mobility enhancements critical for attracting investment and improving operational efficiency in this major manufacturing hub.
The Maharashtra government will execute a comprehensive infrastructure gap analysis in the Chakan-Talegaon industrial corridor to identify deficiencies in roads, electricity, waste management, and connectivity. This initiative is part of a coordinated effort involving the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and other agencies to facilitate industrial growth, aiming to enhance the state's economy from USD 640 billion to an expected USD 1 trillion.
Infrastructure projects are already underway, including elevated corridors to alleviate traffic congestion, which has been a significant operational challenge for businesses. Additionally, new extra high voltage substations and a waste management system are planned.
The state also aims to streamline industrial approvals via the My3 platform, integrating separate departmental approvals by June 15. The potential of the semiconductor project in Talegaon is expected to create 4,000 jobs, highlighting the corridor's relevance in attracting significant foreign investment.
