Maharashtra's Waaree Energies Launches 10 GW Solar Manufacturing Facility in Nagpur
Waaree Energies Limited has begun construction on a 10 GW integrated solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur, Maharashtra, supported by an investment of approximately ₹6,200 crore. The facility will produce 10 GW of ingots and wafers, reinforcing India's solar supply chain and reducing dependency on imports.
The project is part of Waaree's broader strategy to expand into various segments of renewable energy. The company plans to increase its solar module capacity to 28.4 GW and solar cell capacity to 15.4 GW by FY 2027. This development aligns with India's goals for enhancing domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and fostering clean energy adoption.
