The Malaysian Army is increasing its personnel and asset deployment along borders to ensure national security. This initiative includes the procurement of helicopters and self-propelled howitzers, enhancing operational capabilities in a complex security environment.

The Malaysian Army is enhancing its border security by deploying more personnel and advanced technology, including drones and all-terrain vehicles. In a 15-year leasing program starting next year, the Army will receive eight helicopters to support the Army Air Wing (PUTD), while the procurement of Self-Propelled Howitzers (SPH) is expected to commence service next year.
The Army is also adapting to a multi-domain warfare strategy and regional uncertainties as part of its holistic transformation aligned with the Defence White Paper. The recent Army Day Parade showcased various military assets and involved 36 officers and 847 ranks, emphasizing readiness and technological integration.
