Manteca City Council Approves $6.9 Million Sewer Line Replacement Project
Manteca has awarded a $6.9 million contract to Teichert Construction for a sewer trunk line replacement, enhancing wastewater capacity and reducing maintenance costs. This project marks a significant infrastructure upgrade aimed at addressing aging sewer systems and improving operational efficiency.

The Manteca City Council has approved a $6.9 million bid to replace 4,200 feet of the Central Sewer Trunk Line, critical for transporting wastewater to the treatment plant. This replacement will transition from the current 15 million gallons per day capacity to 19 million gallons per day by utilizing gravity flow, thereby lessening the need for pump stations and reducing operational costs.
The aging line has failed multiple times in the last decade, necessitating emergency repairs. This project represents one of the initial capital improvements funded by a wastewater rate increase implemented two years ago. The new alignment will minimize impacts on the adjacent golf course, leading to cost savings and reduced construction time.
