Marang Terminal Development to Boost Terengganu's Silica Industry by 2028
The Marang Terminal is set for completion in Q3 2028, positioning Terengganu as a key silica processing hub. With TRG Industrial Mineral leading the project, the state aims to enhance its economic landscape and attract technology investments.

The Marang Terminal is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2028, with TRG Industrial Mineral (TIM) spearheading efforts to establish Terengganu as a prominent silica processing hub. The Terengganu Silica Consortium oversees upstream and midstream operations, while TRG Silika (Marang) focuses on ultra-high purity silica production.
In parallel, the state government is investigating Rare Earth Elements (REE) development, estimating around 7.19 million metric tons of resources. Additionally, LNG regasification in Kemaman is anticipated to finish by Q4 2029, aiming to improve local supply chains. These developments could significantly impact Terengganu's socioeconomic growth and attract high-tech investment opportunities.
