Despite this, watermen, represented by Captain Robert Newberry, express concerns over persistent pollution issues and question the accuracy of the state's figures. Experts highlight the challenges of non-point source pollution, indicating that modeling may not accurately capture real-world conditions. Ongoing investment in stormwater management and agricultural runoff is crucial as Maryland aims for its 2040 restoration objectives.
