World Bank Delegation Considers Investment in Lahore Wastewater Treatment Projects
The World Bank has signaled an intention to invest in wastewater treatment initiatives in Lahore, Pakistan. This interest follows a meeting with WASA Lahore officials, highlighting potential projects and modernization efforts in water management.

The World Bank delegation, including Senior Urban Development Specialist Sohaib Rashid, met with WASA Lahore officials to discuss investment in wastewater treatment projects. Key projects discussed included the Babu Sabu Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase-II and others along Barki Road and Ferozepur Road.
The delegation also evaluated a proposed plant near the Indian border at Hudiara Drain and the Mohlanwal Treatment Plant. The World Bank expressed interest in collaboration and praised WASA Lahore's digitalization initiatives. WASA Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed emphasized future projects would adhere to modern standards and sustainable practices, enhancing coordination with international partners.
