Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones has launched an Economic Security Advisory Group to support city officials in technology sectors before a trade mission to Taiwan. The group, chaired by Jim Perschbach, includes business leaders, retired military officers, and heads of research institutions.

It will focus on artificial intelligence, quantum technology, biotechnology, and space manufacturing, meeting at least quarterly. The group aims to facilitate public-private partnerships and provide policy input, especially regarding a $500 million infrastructure bond. Members will join Jones on a trade mission to Taiwan to strengthen business ties and explore opportunities in the semiconductor industry.
