MEPSO has applied for PECI status for the 400 kV East-West Interconnection Corridor - Western Section, which aims to improve regional electricity supply between North Macedonia and Kosovo. The project will construct a 400 kV interconnection line between Tetovo and Prizren, covering 255 kilometers, and reinforce the internal transmission network.
It includes a new 400/110 kV substation in Tetovo and another in Oslomej, enhancing operational flexibility. The interconnection will facilitate connectivity between North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania, complementing an existing PECI project to upgrade the Prizren-Fierza line.
