Metafuels Secures $24 Million to Scale Synthetic Aviation Fuel Production
Metafuels has raised $24 million to advance the industrial production of sustainable synthetic aviation fuels (e-SAF) using methanol-to-jet technology. The funding aims to enhance production capacity to meet the aviation industry's climate targets, which require a 150-fold increase in sustainable aviation fuel by 2050. Led by UVC Partners, the financing will support the transition to commercial projects and the launch of the product aerobrew, enabling airlines to reduce emissions competitively with fossil kerosene.

Metafuels has completed a $24 million financing round to scale the industrial production of sustainable synthetic aviation fuels (e-SAF) through methanol-to-jet technology. This initiative aims to address the aviation industry's need for a 150-fold increase in sustainable aviation fuel production by 2050, which cannot be met through biogenic fuels alone.
The investment, led by UVC Partners and involving Energy Impact Partners, Contrarian Ventures, RockCreek, Verve Ventures, and Fortescue, will facilitate the transition from technology development to the establishment of commercial projects. The product aerobrew is set to launch, enabling airlines to lower emissions while maintaining current operational models.
