Metal Logic Acquires Pilbara Site for Modular Clean Steel Smelter Deployment
Metal Logic has acquired approximately 1,000 hectares in Western Australia's Pilbara region for its first industrial-scale modular clean steel smelter, set to produce one million tonnes of steel per annum starting in H1 CY26. The technology allows for lower-cost processing of lower-grade iron ores, unlocking significant value and creating regional jobs. The facility aligns with the WA Government's local manufacturing initiatives and aims to deliver traceable, low-emission steel products for infrastructure projects.

Metal Logic has secured about 1,000 hectares in Pilbara, Western Australia, for its first industrial-scale modular clean steel smelter, expected to reach an initial capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum by H1 CY26. The smelting technology is not grade-dependent, allowing for the economic viability of lower-grade iron ores and unlocking previously stranded deposits.
This acquisition follows the production announcement of modular smelting units in September 2025. The project aligns with the Western Australian Government's push for locally manufactured green steel, aiming to support infrastructure projects with traceable, low-emission steel products while generating regional employment and tax revenue.
