Metinvest Adria, a joint venture between Metinvest B.V. and Danieli & C., ranked fifth in the Investment Impact Awards 2026 in the Mega-project category for investments over €500 million. Recognized as a strategic national project by the Italian government on November 20, it is among the top foreign direct investments in Europe with significant impact potential.

The project involves a green steel plant in Piombino, costing €2.5-3 billion. It will produce around 2.7 million tons of steel annually, reducing emissions, and is expected to create over 1,000 jobs by 2027.
