Metirionic Introduces Bluetooth Channel Sounding for High-Accuracy Distance and Angle Estimation

SEMICONDUCTOR

Metirionic demonstrated high-accuracy distance and angle estimation using Bluetooth Channel Sounding at Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany. The technology utilizes the Metirionic Advanced Ranging Stack (MARS) with a quad-antenna array to provide accurate spatial awareness.

MARS enables the estimation of the Channel Impulse Response (CIR) to improve performance by identifying the direct path and correcting for reflections. The company partners with Nordic Semiconductor and Synaptics to integrate this technology into secure access and industrial applications.

Demonstrations included real-time spatial data visualization and secure access solutions that calculate proximity for device interactions. Ezurio's dual-antenna development kits and the Bauer Bluetooth Channel Sounding door lock were also showcased, illustrating the commercial viability of the technology.
