Ministry Resolves Diesel Pump Incident at Kuala Lumpur Petrol Station
A viral incident involving a dry diesel pump at a Kuala Lumpur petrol station has been addressed with a full customer refund. The ministry confirmed the pump malfunctioned during refueling, highlighting a lack of automatic fuel cut-off features.

The domestic trade and cost of living ministry confirmed that a diesel pump at a petrol station in Kuala Lumpur ran out of fuel during a transaction, resulting in a refund of RM232.07 to the customer on April 9. Investigations revealed that the petrol station lacked fuel volume detection and automatic shut-off systems, relying solely on manual checks.
All fuel pumps were found to be within valid calibration periods, and the station's operating licenses were confirmed active under the Control of Supplies Act 1961. The ministry issued a warning to improve compliance and monitoring to prevent future occurrences, stating this was an isolated incident not indicative of the broader fuel supply system.
