MIPS and INOVA Collaborate on Robotics Control Reference Platform for Humanoids

This platform will incorporate Inova's automotive expertise in zonal architectures and utilize GlobalFoundries' FDX technology for enhanced performance and low power consumption.

MIPS and Inova Semiconductors GmbH announced a collaboration to develop a robotics control reference platform for advanced humanoids and physical AI edge platforms. The platform will leverage Inova's automotive zonal architecture expertise and GlobalFoundries' FDX technology to support mixed-criticality compute with real-time control and secure AI workloads.
It aims to reduce costs and complexity for robot builders, enhancing connectivity and performance. The platform features MIPS' RISC-V technologies and Inova's APXpress high-speed interface, designed for efficient, mission-critical robotics applications. Early access is available through MIPS Atlas Explorer for software optimization.
