MPC Capital Expands Maritime Decarbonization Efforts with New Projects
MPC Capital has initiated the construction of two container ships powered by green methanol, with a total investment of USD 78 million. This project aims to establish Northern Europe's first climate-neutral transport corridor, reflecting strong industry commitments to sustainability.

MPC Capital has ordered two container ships powered by green methanol, with a total investment of USD 78 million. Scheduled for delivery in 2024, these vessels will be chartered for 15 years to Norwegian shipping company NCL and are designed to meet International Maritime Organization (IMO) emission standards.
Additionally, MPC Capital has launched an investment platform for offshore wind service vessels, securing EUR 130 million for six Offshore Survey and Service Vessels (OSSVs) to operate emission-free. The offshore wind sector's rapid growth is expected to create demand for specialized assets, with European capacity projected to increase over 20% annually until 2033. MPC Capital's strategy to enter this sector indicates a strong commitment to combining maritime and energy infrastructure.
