Navy Seeks Volunteers for NASA Space Exploration Study at Wright-Patterson
The Naval Medical Research Unit at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is recruiting volunteers for a study aimed at improving astronaut performance and safety during lunar missions. This research is essential for addressing motion sickness and adapting to varying gravity conditions as part of NASA's Artemis program.

U.S. Navy researchers are seeking volunteers for the StableEyes With Active Neurophysiology Monitoring (SWAN) study, which examines human adaptation to motion and gravity changes, crucial for future lunar exploration.
Participants must be active-duty military or TRICARE beneficiaries, aged 18-55, and meet specific health criteria, including a current medical clearance and no recent centrifuge exposure. The study involves controlled acceleration profiles in a centrifuge, followed by tasks to assess balance and motion sickness.
Volunteers may receive compensation up to $300. This research supports NASA's Artemis program, aiming to return astronauts to the Moon, addressing challenges like sensory conflicts during transitions between different gravity environments.
