The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality approved a R679.5 million budget on March 5 for enhancing water security and electricity infrastructure. This includes R482.4 million for water projects, increasing by R25.9 million from the earlier budget.

The electricity allocation addresses vandalism and aging infrastructure, with R55.7 million for a new substation.
