A new terminal at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport in Vermont will open by March 31, replacing four existing gates with larger ones. The $68 million project is funded primarily by federal dollars, including a $34 million earmark from 2022. The terminal features geothermal heating, an observation deck, and new amenities but no food vendors. The project will also result in the demolition of existing gates and administrative offices.

The $68 million project is primarily funded by federal dollars, including a $34 million earmark secured in 2022. Following the terminal's opening, demolition of the existing gates and offices will commence. A recent report indicates that the airport supports approximately 5,650 jobs, a 15% increase since 2018, with total wages rising over 90%.
