Nexif Ratch Energy Invests VND 5.7 Trillion in Gia Lai Wind Power Project
Nexif Ratch Energy, a leading clean energy developer based in Singapore, has received the green light for its ambitious Vân Canh Bình Định wind power project in Gia Lai Province, with an investment totaling over VND 5.7 trillion (approximately US $216 million). This initiative is poised to play a pivotal role in transforming the region into a hub for renewable energy.
Strategically located in the Van Canh district of the Central Highlands, the wind power plant is designed to generate 143 MW of capacity, producing around 392 million kWh of electricity annually to bolster the national grid. Spanning more than 48 hectares, the facility will encompass the necessary infrastructure, including turbine foundations, transformer stations, and internal road systems. Construction is slated to commence in the third quarter of this year and will extend through to 2028, with the project expected to operate for 50 years.
The project aligns seamlessly with Gia Lai's broader renewable energy strategy, which seeks to exploit the province's abundant land and favorable climatic conditions for wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and geothermal power. Under the revised Power Development Plan VIII, Gia Lai has outlined plans for over 9,600 MW of renewable energy projects, setting the stage for its emergence as a leading clean energy center in Vietnam.
Once operational, the Vân Canh Bình Định wind power plant is anticipated to significantly enhance energy security, generate local budget revenues, create job opportunities, and stimulate overall economic growth in the province. As the clean energy sector continues to evolve, Nexif Ratch Energy's investment underscores a commitment to sustainable development in the region, promising a greener future for Gia Lai and beyond.
