NGCP to Complete Seven Major Transmission Projects in the Philippines to Reduce Outages
POWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSION
The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) plans to complete seven major transmission projects exceeding P18 billion to improve electricity supply and reduce outages. Key projects include the Amlan-Dumaguete 138kV line at P1.9 billion, Tuguegarao-Lal-lo Magapit 230kV line at P2.4 billion, and Tuy 500/230kV Substation Stage 1, along with several others.
In 2025, NGCP upgraded 14 substations and improved voltage in various locations. Despite challenges in right-of-way and permitting, NGCP aims to complete these projects in the year and has requested support from government agencies to facilitate permit releases.
