Nova Scotia Universities Establish Agreement for Military Learners' Support
Nova Scotia's universities signed a memorandum of understanding on June 24 to enhance educational access for military members and their families. This agreement sets a precedent in Canada, aiming to remove barriers and create pathways for military-connected learners across the province's 10 public institutions.

On June 24, the Council of Nova Scotia University Presidents (CONSUP) and the Canadian Military, Veteran and Family Connected Campus Consortium (CMVF3C) formalized an agreement to support military-connected learners. The initiative recognizes military-acquired skills to facilitate academic pathways and aims to assist with institutional transfers due to relocations.
With over 13,000 military personnel and 1,600 reservists in Nova Scotia, the agreement is designed to address the educational challenges faced by military families. It is anticipated that this framework will inspire similar collaborations in other provinces, enhancing educational opportunities for military personnel and contributing to the province's defense and innovation sectors.
