OCI Holdings Expands Operations in Malaysia with New Subsidiary and Joint Ventures
OCI Holdings is enhancing its Malaysian operations by rebranding OCIM to OCI TerraSus and entering the semiconductor-grade polysilicon market. The company aims to produce 11,000 tons of polysilicon and 100,000 tons of epichlorohydrin by 2027, marking a significant diversification in its product offerings.

OCI Holdings is rebranding its Malaysian subsidiary from OCIM to OCI TerraSus, reflecting a shift towards sustainable technologies. In 2025, OCI TerraSus will establish a joint venture with Tokuyama to produce semiconductor-grade polysilicon, with both investing $108.75 million.
The new facility in Samalaju Industrial Park is set to produce 11,000 tons by 2027. Additionally, OCI Kumho will commence epichlorohydrin production, targeting 100,000 tons annually from 2026. OCI TerraSus also plans to increase solar polysilicon capacity from 35,000 tons to 56,600 tons by 2027. Despite a revenue downturn in 2024, the company is pursuing vertical integration in the U.S. solar market and has appointed Anas Alam Faizli as head of its Malaysian headquarters.
