Oliver Council Approves Water System Upgrade and Assessment Initiatives
Oliver Town Council has approved funding for the Rockcliffe Irrigation System rehabilitation and an assessment application for its irrigation infrastructure. The council will borrow up to $1.1 million from reserves for the rehabilitation project, addressing issues related to a 50-year-old pump house that previously triggered a boil water advisory.

Oliver Town Council has authorized a $1.1 million borrowing from reserves for the Rockcliffe Irrigation System rehabilitation project. The project aims to restore the town's largest pump house, which is over 50 years old and has faced recent issues, including a boil water advisory.
Additionally, the municipality plans to apply for up to $100,000 from the Agriculture Water Infrastructure Program to assess the irrigation system and conduct an economic impact study. This project could lead to shared costs up to 50%.
The council is also exploring alternative funding sources for the well and pump house upgrades, with borrowing anticipated to start in October. Failure to upgrade the pump station could affect service to higher elevation properties.
