Pertamina Engages Communities in Used Cooking Oil Collection for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) is promoting community involvement in the collection of used cooking oil for its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (PertaminaSAF) at Cilacap Refinery. Four partner groups, including local waste banks, have collected over 4,300 liters of used cooking oil in 2025, contributing to environmental sustainability and generating economic benefits. The initiative supports the circular economy and aligns with Indonesia's goal for Net Zero Emission by 2060.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) is actively involving local communities in collecting used cooking oil for its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (PertaminaSAF) at the Cilacap Refinery. Four partner groups have been formed: Bank Sampah Abhipraya, Bank Sampah Cahaya Asri, Bank Sampah Beo Asri, and the Mom's Go Green community, collectively collecting over 4,300 liters of used cooking oil in 2025.
This initiative not only aims to reduce environmental pollution but also provides economic benefits, with collected oil priced at an average of Rp5,000 per liter, generating an annual revenue of around Rp20 million. The Cilacap Refinery aims to lead green energy production in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, with PertaminaSAF being utilized commercially since August 2025.
