Pertamina Launches Sustainable Aviation Fuel Supply to Major Indonesian Airports
Pertamina Patra Niaga has commenced the distribution of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) derived from Used Cooking Oil to Soekarno-Hatta and Ngurah Rai airports, achieving a production volume of approximately 45,000 barrels as of March 2026. This initiative aims to reduce Indonesia's reliance on imported fuels and promote sustainable energy in aviation.

In March 2026, Pertamina Patra Niaga initiated the supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to Soekarno-Hatta and Ngurah Rai airports. The SAF production, based on Used Cooking Oil (UCO), was realized at Kilang Cilacap, achieving a volume of around 45,000 barrels.
The production process adheres to international standards, including certification from ISCC CORSIA and DEFSTAN 91-091. This strategic move reinforces Pertamina's position as a regional pioneer in SAF production, encouraging local communities to contribute by collecting used cooking oil. The transition to SAF represents a significant step in Indonesia's energy sustainability efforts.
