Philippine Airlines Unveils First Airbus A350-1000 in Southeast Asia
Philippine Airlines (PAL) unveiled its first Airbus A350-1000 on January 18, 2026, at Lufthansa Technik Philippines, becoming the first airline in Southeast Asia to operate this aircraft. The event was attended by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other dignitaries.
PAL plans to add five A350-1000 aircraft to its fleet in 2026 and three more in 2027, enhancing its long-haul services to the US and Canada. The aircraft features a tri-class layout, accommodating 382 passengers.
The A350-1000 offers up to a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions and is compatible with sustainable aviation fuel. PAL's fleet now totals 82 aircraft, reflecting ongoing modernization efforts.
