PI Launches A-725 5-DOF Air Bearing Stage for Precision Applications
PI has launched the A-725, a 5-DOF nanopositioning system designed for semiconductor and photonics applications. This system features an innovative air bearing design that enhances geometric accuracy and multi-axis alignment capabilities.

The A-725, introduced by PI, is a five-axis nanopositioning system designed for applications in semiconductor manufacturing, photonics, metrology, and microscopy. It has a travel range of 100×100 mm to 300×400 mm in the XY plane and provides 5 mm of Z travel with ±2° of tip/tilt capability.
The system utilizes ironless three-phase linear motors for frictionless motion, and it is equipped with PI ACS-based controllers for efficient commissioning. The design reduces stacking errors and Abbe offsets, improving performance in demanding tasks such as optical inspection and laser processing. The introduction of this system may enhance precision in various industrial applications.
