Pima County Partners with University of Arizona and JSEDM to Enhance Semiconductor Industry

Pima County and the University of Arizona's Center for Innovation are partnering with Taiwan's JSEDM to enhance the semiconductor industry in Pima County. The collaboration aims to assist international companies in understanding the U.S. market, focusing on optics.
JSEDM plans to introduce their machinery in the fall and will work with student interns to identify customers and conduct research. The initiative is expected to generate job opportunities and support local businesses. The first cohort of 500 students will start training in January 2027, preparing for careers in the semiconductor sector.
