PLN Implements VR Technology to Monitor Renewable Energy Plants in East Java
PLN UID East Java is utilizing virtual reality (VR) technology to monitor renewable energy power plants, enhancing remote oversight capabilities. The initiative, termed 'the Virtual Journey to Green Power,' allows centralized monitoring of various plants including the Benowo Waste-to-Energy Power Plant and the Ijen Geothermal Power Plant.
This technology enables real-time evaluation and maintenance without physical presence. PLN reports that East Java's renewable energy capacity is 293 Megawatts, representing 3.5% of the region's total power capacity. By 2027, PLN plans to ensure 24-hour electricity on inhabited Madura islands through renewable energy developments.
