Poet Biorefining Partners with Vault 44.01 for Carbon Capture Facility in North Manchester
Poet Biorefining has teamed up with Vault 44.01 to develop a carbon capture sequestration facility in North Manchester, aiming to inject 250,000 metric tons of CO2 annually into sub-aquifer layers over 12 years. Funded by the 45Q carbon credit program, the initiative could generate $25.25 million per year, though it has faced significant opposition from local residents in Wabash County. Poet recently held a meeting to rally support for the project.

Poet Biorefining has partnered with Vault 44.01 to construct a carbon capture sequestration facility in North Manchester. The project aims to inject 250,000 metric tons of pressurized CO2 annually into sub-aquifer layers for 12 years.
Funding will come from the 45Q carbon credit program, providing $85 per ton of CO2 sequestered, totaling $25.25 million per year. Poet currently employs a regenerative carbon cycle, which does not release new CO2 into the atmosphere.
