Poland Operationalizes POLSARIS Radar Satellite Constellation
Poland has achieved operational control of its radar satellite reconnaissance constellation, POLSARIS, just one year after contract signing. This rapid deployment enhances Poland's intelligence autonomy and military capability.

Poland's POLSARIS system, costing approximately €200 million ($232.5 million), is now operational, with four synthetic aperture radar satellites providing 25 cm resolution imagery. The system was handed over to the Polish Armed Forces on May 15, after being built by ICEYE, which claims this is the fastest deployment of an operational satellite program globally.
The constellation enables all-weather, day-and-night reconnaissance, operating across multiple modes for diverse mission requirements. Poland's Geospatial Reconnaissance and Satellite Services Agency (ARGUS) now independently manages the system, enhancing the country's intelligence capabilities and operational response without relying on allied satellite imagery. This model of rapid deployment may influence future European defense satellite programs.
