Downed wires along Route 517 in Allamuchy Township led to a power outage affecting 9,000 Jersey Central Power & Light customers in Hackettstown, Independence Township, and Allamuchy Township. By late morning, crews had restored power to approximately 8,300 customers, with about 100 still without service.

The outage was linked to ongoing upgrade work in the area, prompting manual restoration efforts. Additionally, arcing between lines at a Hackettstown substation was quickly resolved. The cause of the downed wires remains unknown.
