President Ruto Advocates for NYOTA Initiative and Youth Empowerment Programs in Garissa
President William Ruto defended the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) initiative, stating his commitment to youth empowerment in Kenya. During a visit to Garissa, he disbursed KSh63 million to 2,520 beneficiaries and announced a total funding of KSh375 million to support 7,500 youths, including refugees.
Ruto criticized critics of the initiative and affirmed the necessity of his personal involvement in youth matters. He highlighted ongoing investments, including a KSh279 million tuition block at Garissa University, KSh3 billion for housing and market projects, and the progress of the 750km Isiolo-Wajir-Mandera road. Plans to extend the power grid and alleviate power outages were also discussed.
