Prince George Council Approves Support for Tidewater's Aviation Fuel Project
Tidewater Renewables is seeking provincial funding for a sustainable aviation fuel facility adjacent to its Prince George renewable diesel refinery, which began operations in 2023. The project has completed a front-end engineering study and awaits a final investment decision in Q2 2026.
If constructed, the facility will produce 6,500 barrels per day of low carbon jet fuel, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 800,000 tonnes annually. It is expected to create 60 permanent jobs and require 400 to 500 workers during a three-year construction period, starting in mid-2027. The Prince George council unanimously approved a letter of support for Tidewater's application to the BC-LCFS program.
