Proposals for Housing Conversions and Energy Facilities in Stroud District
Multiple development applications have been submitted in Stroud District. A proposal at Eastington Trading Estate seeks to convert an office building for the research and manufacture of biomethane and hydrogen generators, including new single-storey structures and specialized equipment.
At Wallbridge Industrial Estate, plans for two shipping containers for storage have been submitted. The Fifth Dimension building at Ebley Wharf is proposed to be converted into 30 residential units, with some roof demolition.
The former Prinknash Abbey in Cranham is also set for conversion into 28 apartments. Additional applications include a two-storey extension with a balcony for a home in Theescombe and the conversion of the Rose Inn pub into three dwellings, along with the construction of a new dwelling in its car park. Outline planning for six self-build homes off Bath Road and various extensions across other sites are also under consideration.
