PT Garuda Yamato Steel Launches 6.5 MW Solar Facility in Indonesia
PT Garuda Yamato Steel has inaugurated a 6.5 MW solar power plant aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in manufacturing. This initiative supports Indonesia's net-zero emission targets and enhances the company's sustainability profile.

PT Garuda Yamato Steel (GYS) has launched a 6.5 MW solar power plant covering 55,000 square meters, in collaboration with iForte Energi. The facility is designed to provide clean electricity to steel melting and rolling operations, thereby reducing the company's greenhouse gas emissions.
This development is part of GYS's broader decarbonization strategy and includes advanced technologies such as Electric Arc Furnace (EAF). The partnership with PLN Indonesia is essential for fulfilling sustainability objectives and is aligned with national emissions reduction goals. The successful implementation of this project could set a benchmark for sustainable practices in the steel industry.
