Qingqing No. 1 Project in Jilin Province Begins Production of Green Hydrogen, Ammonia, and Methanol

The Qingqing No. 1 project, the world's largest integrated green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol project, has commenced its first phase of production in Songyuan, Jilin Province. The project aims to support large-scale hydrogen production with a total investment of 6.946 billion yuan.

It includes the construction of an 800,000 kilowatt renewable energy unit and a production unit for 200,000 tons per year of green synthetic ammonia and green methanol. The first phase, initiated in September 2023, is expected to produce 45,000 tons of green hydrogen and 200,000 tons of green ammonia and methanol annually, saving approximately 600,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon emissions by 1.4 million tons per year. This initiative is part of Jilin Province’s “Hydrogen Powering Jilin” program and is backed by China Energy Engineering Corporation.
