Querétaro to Become National Leader in Semiconductor Design with QSM Plant Development
Querétaro's QSM Semiconductores plant aims to begin semiconductor design and manufacturing, projected to start by late 2026. This initiative, supported by the Mexican government, will reduce the country's reliance on imports and generate jobs in a high-paying sector. The factory, located in the Parque Industrial Tecnológico Innovación, represents a major shift for Mexico, moving from a country dependent on semiconductor imports to one that designs and produces them.

The QSM Semiconductores plant in Querétaro is expected to initiate semiconductor design and manufacturing by late 2026, as stated by Mexico's Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard. The facility is over 50% developed and aims to position Querétaro as the only state in Mexico engaged in semiconductor design.
The project, backed by the Fondo de Fondos, will reduce import dependency, create jobs, and foster innovation. QSM is set to generate 210 jobs and has an investment of 777 million pesos. The plant is located in the Parque Industrial Tecnológico Innovación.
